S.M. Dunlap Library welcomes all ages

I discovered that someone has been spreading a rumor that this library no longer welcomes children. We welcome everyone of whatever age, and we urge you to bring your munchkins by this summer and introduce the little ones to books, the older ones to the newest young adult novel, and the parents to our latest bestseller. We’ll be delighted to see you!

S.M. Dunlap Library closed for painting

Due to interior painting and the resulting obstacle course of scaffolding, ladders and the like, the Library will be partially closed for a few days. If you have a book that’s due, just hold on to it. The librarians will be at the Library between 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 1, through Saturday, April 5, if you need a book, computers or a FAX. You might want to call ahead. They apologize for the inconvenience.

Dunlap Library: January Books

Many of you noticed the bulldozer, piles of dirt, and yellow tape here at the library the last few weeks. We were doing some foundation work on this fine old 62 year old building, and we’re working on some other changes, as well. Come by and give your opinion on some of our renovation plans!

Twice the Eggs, Twice the Fun

As in previous Easter egg hunts, fun was abounding on Saturday morning. Children from Italy and beyond grabbed their baskets or buckets and enjoyed hunting eggs at two different places. Thrilled with the thoughts of eggs filled with surprises, the kids checked high and low to fill up their basket. The first egg hunt was at the Dunlap Library and afterwards, the children moved to the Upchurch Ball Fields for the Mayor’s fulfilled gathering.

Saturday morning at the S.M. Dunlap Library in Italy about 9:00 a.m. you could see so many smiles and hear so much laughter coming from all of the children waiting to hunt eggs. The eggs were everywhere. There were so many eggs that some of the children’s baskets were over flowing.
