Waxahachie Community Theatre announces performances of the Broadway classic musical “Annie,” introducing Olivia Leath as Annie and starring Jerry Ellis as Oliver Warbucks. “Annie” is presented in cooperation with Irwin Meyer, Alvin Nederland Associates, Inc. and Lewis Allen Icarus Productions, and is directed by Kasi Jones. Music director is Don Jones.

The 50-member cast of local talent also features Haley Stanford as Tzeitel, Karli Bouck as Hodel, and Riley Kemp as Chava. “Fiddler on the Roof,” under the direction of Kasi Jones with musical direction by Don Jones, is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Vicky Boone Casting is conducting a state-wide search for athletic male high school students to play two lead roles in an upcoming Paramount Pictures film. This film, Pale Blue Dot, is co-written and directed by Academy Award-nominated Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air and Thank You for Smoking). The cast includes Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Rosemarie DeWitt.
Not only does Jonathan Nash (Stafford Elementary principal) have a passion for kids, but he also has a passion for theater. He has performed in more than 20 productions. And now he is playing the part of King Maximillian Godfrey Ladislaus Leopold Sidney Frederick John in the Waxahachie Community Theatre’s production of Cinderella.
Sydney Lowenthal (Stafford 6th grader) is no stranger to the stage. Syney has performed in many plays such as Fiddler on the Roof, Aesop’s Foibles, Bye, Bye Birdie, Substitute Fairy Godmother and Wizard of OZ. Her next play is The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring written by Janie Downey Maxwell in which she plays Barbecue Barbie.
Guys and Dolls is a musical that premiered on Broadway in 1950. It takes place in the rough and tumble city that never sleeps which of course is New York City.
Congratulations to Andrea Windham and her One Act Play-ers on their advancement in the district-zone competition yesterday in Richardson. Their production of All In Disguise won the entire cast and one crew member superlative awards. Their next level of competition (district finals) will be in Krum on Friday, March 22nd. Their performance will be at 1:00pm.

Last Saturday night, September 27 there is darkness everywhere. Far off in the night you can hear loud, frightening music. As you get closer to the music you begin to see some filmy light which exposes some very ghoulish looking characters. All of sudden you see children and adults running out the back of a haunted house, and you begin to realize there is a lot of screaming coming from inside the house.
