A long time ago in a small Italian town… Italy ISD teacher/One a
Act Play director Mrs. Andi Windham was particularly proud during the students’ presentation of the play, All In Disguise, with her son, Ty Windham, playing the role of Marco. Marco is the companion of Piporello, a witty vagabond, portrayed by Gus Allen, who, along with Marco, are determined to find riches by any means necessary. Flavio, a handsome but penniless student played by Hayden Woods, becomes the deceptive duos first victim as love and war quickly ensue.
Marco becomes distracted by love interest, Colombina, a housemaid played by Maddie Pittman. Flavio is determined to wed Florinda, played by Tia Russell, despite the no good shenanigans of Marco and Piporello. Pantalone, a respectful merchant and Florinda’s aging father, realistically portrayed by Chace McGinnis, is the feeble voice of reason keeping this topsy-turvy cast of characters on target for a happy ending.
Upon receiving a standing ovation from theatre goers, Mrs. Windham addresses the audience and compliments her crew for its execution of the mood setting music, mastered by Monserrat Figueroa, the light board by Katelyn Smith, the on the mark spotlight by Emily Stiles, well-timed sound effects by Thomas Crowell and last, but not least, the dramatic curtain pulls of Jalarnce Lewis.
There is no disguising the fact that Italy High School’s version of the comedy written by Gene Taylor and James Michael Elrod is a good one!
