The Czech Educational Foundation of Texas, in partnership with the University of North Texas College of Music, brings one of the most popular brass bands of Moravia Czech Republic for a tour across Texas. Sokol $10K Giveaway Building Fund Benefit: Music by LD and Anything Goes at 6:45 and Bustin’ Loose with Ira Bradford at 9:30. Steak dinner served 6:00-8:00. $125 donation admits 2 and includes dinner, beverages, dance, and chances to win one of the 20 cash prizes! Drawing at 9:00 and need not be present to win. Movie Night: Please join us Friday night in the Sokol Clubroom for our featured film “Želary”, an epic tale about a nurse and her surgeon-lover who are part of a resistance movement in 1940s Czechoslovakia. When they are discovered, her lover flees and she must find a place to hide. A patient whose life she saved, a man from a remote mountain village where time stopped 150 years ago, agrees to hide her as his wife. (Rated R – 2001 film – language: Czech & English).
