Members of Italy High School’s FCCLA (Family Career Community Leaders of America), under the guidance of Ann Hyles who will be retiring after 39 years of service and support to the students of Italy High School, made a strong showing themselves at the Ellis County Youth Expo.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with the kids. They have made my final year teaching at Italy High School very special,” mentioned Ann Hyles while sitting in front of the sewing and embroidery machines.
Thirty-two FCCLA members baked, sewed and embroidered, snapped pictures and created artwork accounting for 43 projects entered into the expo.
“I took pictures of my dog and a brightly lit night sky with my cell phone and they came out really well,” said Ashley Sierakewski who won Reserve Champion in the landscape photography category.
FCCLA expo results:
“Special thanks to Tina and Marty Haight for their generosity towards the FCCLA members and all the Italy students that participated in the expo.”
