Lighthouse For Learning

Does the Japanese art of Raku sound like it would be fun to learn? How about the Chocolate Lovers Workshop? “Sample 7-11 kinds of chocolate while learning interesting facts.” Knitting, crochet or basic dog obedience are interesting. It’s time to register for class and just a simple drive north will start your life time of adventures.

“Waxahachie Community Education, a cooperative effort between Waxahachie I.S.D., the Texas A&M Extension Agency, Master Gardeners and other individuals, organization and businesses, gives you the opportunity to become a life-long learner with classes beginning September 21 for the fall semester. Classes will vary in length and require registration,” quoted from the registration brochure. The classes are designed to spark interest for all ages and vary from Basic Sign Language, Oil Painting, Specialty Cooking to Advanced Welding. On-line classes are also provided. There is something for everyone-even cooking with the kids.

If you are interested in learning something different, contact the Community Education Office at 972-923-4631, ext 142 for assistance or come by the Administration Building at 411 N. Gibson Street. Pre-registration and payment is required for all classes. All classes meet at the Waxahachie High School, unless otherwise instructed. Everyone is welcome. Students do not need to be Waxahachie residents to enroll in the classes.
