Carolyn Maevers is a very dedicated principal for Stafford Elementary. Her goal for her students is for them to do their best and aim for the top scores in school and in life.
When asked what goals she had for this coming school year, Carolyn had this to say. "Though we had a very good year with the students doing well in their classes and behavior continuing to improve as we provide more programs for development of social skills, respect, and anti-bullying we, like all schools, have much more to accomplish.
Our goal has always been and always will be to be the best elementary school ever. We have the students, the staff and the parents to be just that school. Our biggest hurdle to jump is the TAKS assessment program. We are disappointed in our Accountability Rating of Acceptable this year. We have all it takes to be Exemplary, but we have to fine tune our approach. This will be our top most priority this year."
She went on to say, "We are very fortunate in that we have small classes where the students can receive individualized instruction. Our campus has many specialized teachers and programs that address the special needs of all of our students and will allow them to be taught as their individual learning style dictates. The classroom teachers are all highly qualified and most have many years of experience. This is another plus for our campus as well as the team approach that is used at each grade level.
The teachers will be utilizing new approaches and techniques to address our areas of concern and I know that at the end of the year we will meet our expectations of being Exemplary once again. We are looking forward to a great year not only in the TAKS area, but in all areas. It begins in PPCD and PK then builds a firmer foundation each year. It takes all of our students, our great staff and our cooperative and caring parents/community to make this campus successful and we will be successful!"
Miss Maevers is excited about this new school year and welcomes you back to Stafford Elementary.
Have a great year!
