Wouldn’t it be great to surprise your child with a letter from Santa Claus from the North Pole? If you would like to do that, then the Italy Post Office is at your service.

You can help Santa send a letter to your child by following these simple directions.

Write a response letter from Santa Claus and mail it in a second envelope to the Fairbanks, Alaska Post Office. Postal elves at the nearby North Pole Office will open the envelopes, postmark Santa’s reply letters with a special North Pole Postmark and mail them back to the children they are addressed to.

After writing Santa’s response letter, place it in a stamped envelope addressed to your child. “Santa, North Pole, Alaska,” should be included as the return address in the upper left corner of the envelope. This envelope should then be placed into a larger properly stamped First -Class Mail or Priority Mail envelope with your correct return address and mail it to:
North Pole Christmas Cancellation
5400 Mail Trail
Fairbanks, AK 99709-9998

North Pole postmark requests must arrive in Fairbanks, Alaska before December 15th, 2008. Please mail your request by the 10th of December. Requests made after that date should be sent via Priority Mail or Express Mail.

You can also send Christmas cards and/or letters with the North Pole postmark by mailing them to the address above, following the same directions. Please make sure that the stamped envelopes are addressed, sealed and contain cards or other inserts. Empty envelopes can be damaged by high speed sorting equipment.

What a Christmas surprise for your children that will be remembered for a long time!
